Floating Support
Tees Valley YMCA recognises that there are times when young people need extra support for a variety of different reasons.
We work in partnership with Humankind and have an established floating support service, that works with young people right across the Darlington area, the support their extra needs.
The service works to ensure that young people aged 16-24 are able to maintain a tenancy or secure a new one of their own.
Humankind provides support in the following areas:
- Independent living skills
- Managing utilities
- Budgeting plans
- Advice and help around benefits
- Support to access training
- Support around debt
- Emotional support
- Confidence building & self-esteem
- Training / Education / Employment
